When using Essential Oils, keep a bottle of carrier oil close by!
Carrier oils, also known as base oils, can be almost any vegetable, nut or seed oil, and often have therapeutic properties of their own. They are pressed from the fatty portions of plants and do not evaporate or have such a strong aroma as essential oils.
While essential oils are known as volatile oils, carrier oils are fatty oils; so they can be very moisturizing and soothing for the skin.
They are used to DILUTE essential oils prior to topical application. The term carrier oil is derived from their purpose in carrying the essential oil onto the skin.

We recommend a high quality vegetable oil such as extra virgin olive oil, jojoba, almond, avocado or coconut oil.
